Cancellation Policy

We understand that life happens, and sometimes appointments need to be rescheduled. However, to respect our stylist time and to ensure a fair working environment, we have established the following cancelation policies.


  • 48 Hours Cancelation Notice: If you need to cancel within 48 hours of your appointment we hold the right to charge a cancelation fee of 50%
  • No Shows: If you do not show up for your appointment without notifying us it will result in a 100% charge of scheduled service.
  • Rescheduling: Same day rescheduling will result in a 25% charge
  • 15 min Late Police: We typically try to accommodate out late arriving guests, however that is not always possible. This may result in the need to reschedule, especially if the guest is more than 15 minutes late. This may result in up to a 50% rescheduling fee.


Our cancelation policy fees ensures our stylists are compensated for the time reserved for you.


By booking with Fringe Artistic Salon you agree to this policy and acknowledge that your stylist is working on commission, meaning their income is directly impacted by no-shows and last minute cancellations.

    At our salon, your safety and well-being is our top priorities. We have implemented the strictest health and safety measures so you can relax and enjoy your visit with complete peace of mind.

  • Personalized Consultation

    Every service begins with a personalized consultation to understand your unique hair needs. Please bring inspirational photos to help us visualize your desired look, as what you describe and what we interpret can sometimes differ.


    Your hair’s health is our foremost concern. We will thoroughly assess its condition and never perform a service that could compromise its integrity. Some treatments may require multiple sessions to achieve the best results.

  • Self Check In

    When you arrive, you can check yourself in—no need to wait for someone unless you require assistance or haven’t completed the forms we sent to you beforehand.

  • Before and After Photos

    Get ready for some before and after photos to showcase your fabulous new look and highlight the amazing work our team does. If you’d like, feel free to freshen up your makeup beforehand so you feel your absolute best in the pictures

  • Why We Need a CC on File and Deposit

    To reserve your appointment, we require a 50% deposit. This deposit will be applied toward your total service and is non-refundable if your appointment is canceled or rescheduled outside of our policy guidelines.

    If you cancel or reschedule within the policy window, the deposit will go toward any applicable cancellation or rescheduling fee. Any remaining balance will stay on your account as a credit to be used toward your next appointment.

    We know that life can be unpredictable and sometimes you need to reschedule. To respect our stylists’ time and provide the best experience for everyone, we have a few important policies in place:

  • Why Do Different Stylists Charge Different Prices for Services

    At Fringe Artistic Salon, our stylists bring a range of unique experience and expertise, which is reflected in our tiered pricing structure. The listed price is a base rate for each stylist tier and service, but final costs may vary depending on factors like hair length and type, product usage, and service duration.

    Stylist prices are determined by their industry experience, advanced education, and demand. Our stylists are grouped into levels to help you choose the best fit for your needs and budget.

    Simply put, you pay more for greater experience and specialized training. We work as a team to ensure every client receives the highest level of care and attention. Feel free to request a stylist within the price range that suits you—we have the perfect stylist for everyone!

  • How Long Will My Color Last

    The longevity of your hair color depends a lot on how you care for it at home. Using high-quality, color-safe shampoos, conditioners, and styling products is key to keeping your color vibrant for as long as possible—typically between 4 to 8 weeks, with most people seeing around 5 to 6 weeks.

    Several factors affect how quickly your color fades: how often you wash your hair, the temperature of the water, how much time you spend in the sun, and your personal tolerance for color fading. Reds, in particular, tend to fade faster due to the nature of their pigment molecules.

    Color works by depositing pigment inside your hair strands, but over time, water and products can wash away these pigments. Using regular shampoos that contain harsh detergents or conditioners with ingredients like paraffin can strip color quickly and cause fading, sometimes after just one wash.

    Our stylists use premium products during your service that help protect and strengthen your hair, ensuring your color looks healthier and lasts longer. To keep that fresh color between visits, we recommend using the color-safe products suggested by your stylist—available right here in our salon.

  • Payment and Gratuity

    We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Zelle, and Cash. Personal checks are not accepted.

    Please note that gratuities on card payments Credit Card are allowed, it is through our cc tipping service TIPPY where your stylist will receive it instantly. Tips are also appreciated in Cash, Venmo, or Zelle, and are given directly to your technician

  • Something Doesn't Look Right?

    Our goal is for every guest to leave feeling confident and cared for. If something isn’t right, we want to know—honestly, we need to know. Your feedback gives us the opportunity to make things right, and we see it as a favor when you share your concerns with us.

    While we do not offer refunds, we are absolutely committed to correcting any issues with your service. We take pride in going above and beyond to ensure our guests are happy, and we’ll do everything we can to resolve the situation to your satisfaction.

    If you’re not happy with your hair, please contact us within 72 hours of your appointment. This allows us to address your concerns promptly and offer a solution while the service is still fresh.

    We understand it can feel uncomfortable to speak up, but please don’t leave feeling disappointed. Let us know—either during your visit or shortly after—so we can make it right.

    We have a parking lot on the right side of our building we share with Dana Automobile. Any of the side streets are available as well.

  • What is an Up-and-Coming Stylist Service?

    At Fringe, we’re proud to introduce our Up and Coming Stylists—the next generation of talented stylists who are building their careers behind the chair.

    Our up-and-coming stylists are fully licensed professionals who have completed cosmetology school and are now advancing their skills through our in-salon training program. They offer select services at lower, introductory prices while they continue to grow and perfect their craft under the guidance of our senior team.

    This is a great opportunity for guests to receive high-quality services at a more affordable rate, while supporting the development of our newest talent.

    The New Talent program is our way of welcoming fresh creativity into the salon and giving our guests the chance to experience amazing results—at a great value.

New Client Contracts

When you arrive at our spa in Nutley, you will first be greeted with drinks and treats to help you unwind and a welcome kit that includes our detailed pricing. Next, one of our experts will meet you and closely examine your hair and skin. Finally, our team will take the time to understand your concerns in detail and will help draw out the perfect and most lucrative treatment plan to help you achieve all your goals. 


As a new client, you can expect your stylist to go over a "color contract" that will ensure that you know what we can do for you on your first visit, the correct upkeep, and how long it may take to get you to your set goal. This leaves you happy and aware of expectations from your stylist and develops a relationship of trust!

Level-System

Our stylists bring specific experience and expertise to Fringe. To reflect that, we have a tiered fee structure. Price+ indicates the base price for that particular tier and service and may increase taking into account certain variables such as the amount of product used, hair length/type, service duration, etc.


Stylists' prices are based on their industry experience, the amount of advanced education they have obtained and time of demand. Our stylists are on a level based system.


In general, you pay more for experience and advanced training. Feel free to request a stylist in the price range you are comfortable with. We have someone for everyone!
